Fried Cockroaches

Fried Cockroaches

How much would you pay for a pound of cockroaches? To eat!?

Chinese are willing to pay up to $20/pound!

They even have cockroach farms!!

I guess they build a bunch of houses and not clean the houses for a long time and leave food around.

How do you create a cockroach farm?!

EEEeeewwww!!

Daddy says that one of the most interesting meals you can watch is when Indians and Chinese sit down to do business together over a meal.

Read: When parents are too overprotective

“The Indians won’t eat anything and the Chinese will eat everything.”

Seriously! Cockroaches!

Periplaneta americana, is the preferred breed of cockroaches. They grow to be about 1.6 inches long and can fly.

Open up.   Zoom! Crunch crunch. Guuuullllp!

One guy in China says he has 6 farms and about 10,000,000 cockroaches.

Can you imagine trying to count them all?

1, 2, 3 … hold still. Hey you, get back in line.

Cockroaches are fried and seasoned with salt. They bring their own texture.

It reminds me of an alligator joke. One alligator said to another, “I love to eat missionaries.”

“Why?”

“They are soft on the outside and crunchy on the inside.”

Not. Cockroaches. Crunchy all the way down.

Oh, and they taste better dead. But that’s not mandatory.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
