Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

I don’t want for much. My mommy and daddy pretty much take good care of me.

I have all I need and so far that’s good enough for me.

But if I could want something, I might want a cutting board.

My daddy’s student, Josie owns the web site Mac Cutting Boards. And she invited me to guest blog at her site.

So I wrote about What Little Girls Look for When They Buy a Cutting Board.

I don’t much cooking, other then pretend cooking.

And to do that I don’t need anything other than a pretend knife and a pretend cutting board.

But what I wished for in a cutting board if I really were to get one was something shaped like a pony or a princess or a fairy or my daddy.

Or how about a cutting board shaped like China? But I don’t know what they would do with Taiwan. Taiwan would keep falling on the floor.

I think making cutting boards out of stuff that would otherwise be thrown away is a great idea. My mommy teaches me about being green. Not quite the same but still a good idea.

China will have to learn this lesson, too. China needs to learn how to use material over and over again.

Maybe this is something I will teach them when I grow up.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
