Daddy singing the Blues

Daddy singing the Blues

Mommy told daddy that she has good news and bad news.

This usually means that she wants to tell him something that is good news. And then she has something else to tell him that is bad news.

But in this case, the good news and the bad news is the same thing.

How can that be?

My Gong Gong and Poh Poh have been planning to come stay with us for a while.

We have been planning for them to come, too. Some of mommy’s workerbees have been coming to our house every weekend to break our garage and put it back together.

I do that sometimes. Break things. It’s the putting them back together that I haven’t figured out yet.

Anyway… Gong Gong and Poh Poh had to go to the American M Bass C. (Ed. Embassy) to get permission to come visit us.

Mommy told daddy – Good news – they got the visa! And bad news – they got the visa!

I am sure Mommy is looking forward to them coming. And I am, too. But I am not sure why daddy isn’t so excited.

Maybe I will ask him that question tomorrow morning when we go for a walk.

Do you like it when your grandpa and grandma come stay with you?

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
