Mia and Daddy

This is a funny story … unless you are the person IN the story.

There was a girl who wanted to go to a college.

She studied hard, talked to her mom and dad, and went to take a look.

So good so far.

But then she started Tweeting about the school, or more precisely the other students who were there trying to get in.

And she used very bad language when she did it.

The Dean of the school rejected her.

All things considered, had her application been a tie with someone else who wanted to get in, she would not have been accepted because of her ‘judgment.’

We might wonder what the application committee would have thought had she been saying nice things about the others on campus.

About 1/3 of college admission officers visit the Facebook page of applicants. And another almost one-third said they find information online that NEGATIVELY affects the prospects of would-be students… says NYTimes.

Wow! I wonder if college admission officers are going to be reading my blog 10-12 years from now.

It doesn’t matter. I am not ashamed of what goes on here. Besides, I have my daddy looking out for me. He knows colleges and he knows online social media and how it works.

Don’t you wish you had a daddy like him?!
