Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

Gosh. I thought I knew music.

Twinkle Star, This Old Man, If You’re Happy and You Know It, God Our Father.

I mean, what else is there to listen to? And to sing along to?

Boy, was I surprised last night!

My daddy (he’s a King Kong-sized Monkey) and I went surfing (without our bathing suits, hee hee hee!) last night.

He took me to youtube and showed me some stuff.

Three of them I remember right off are

1.  Dolly Parton. Oh my goodness! Did you see those…. (Ed: Mia!!)

2.  Andrea Brocolli. (Ed: Bocelli). Brocolli, celery, gotta be, Veggie Tales. He did NOT sing that song.

3.  El Divo. Now, I don’t know what angels sound like, but if I were to guess, I’d say it was something like these guys.

What fun!

Next thing I knew I was in dreamland…and then it was morning. Pleasant dreams indeed. With such sweet music in my ears.

Last night I discovered AGAIN how much fun it’s going to be to grow up. Gosh, lots and lots of music is there waiting for me to discover and sing along to and enjoy and maybe even make myself. How fun!

So, I have a question for anybody who happens to stumble on to my blog here.

What kind of music do you like?

What do you recommend for me to listen to?

I am all ears!

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
