Toyota and General Motors will both sell 9 million plus cars this year.
The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers says that the country will have an auto output of about 8.5 million cars this year.
In the first four months, China’s auto output grew by 21.4% to 3.01 million units…and sales hit 2.93 million, up 21.5%.
If they did that every quarter…then the country is looking at nearly 12 million units in sales.
Jilin-based First Automobile Works, FAW, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. and Hubei-based Dongfeng Motors were the big sellers.
Anhui-based Chery Automobile and Zhejiang-based Geely Group, two brands indigenous to China ranked seventh and tenth.
China’s top ten automakers accounted for 83% of the total output. Translation – there still is no big three or four in China…yet.
