Japan permits marriage between a man and a woman only.

There are reasons why Japan’s population is declining.

Here’s one…a Japanese man is a petitioning to marry a manga character. What’s more, he has 1,000+ signatures of people telling to “Go for it!”

His reasoning is that he feels more at ease in the “two-dimensional world.” He, too would like to become a two-dimensional characters. “Don’t look now, but too many Japanese men are already two-dimensional.

One of his supporters –

“For a long time I have only been able to fall in love with two-dimensional people and currently I have someone I really love,” one person wrote.

“Even if she is fictional, it is still loving someone. I would like to have legal approval for this system at any cost,” the person wrote.

Japan permits marriage between a man and a woman only. No legal recognition of same-sex relationships. Sorry, Proposition 8.

The man is not saying who it is he wants to propose to in the manga world. Or what he would do if she turned him down.
