Toyota

It used to be, ‘What’s good for GM (GM) is good for America’ right? Not anymore.

TOYOTA (TM)will overtake GM as the world’s largest car maker this year. It is also trying to make inroads into the American psyche.

New billboards are popping up in the Northern KY area, just south of Cincinnati, where I was born and raised…

“Doughnuts in a baker’s dozen – 13; Toyota’s investment, in billions.” About 8,800 people are employed in the factory near Cincy.

“Kilometers to the moon – 386,000 number of US jobs created by Toyota” is on a sign in Fremont, CA, right ups the highway from where I live now, in Silicon Valley and right outside a giant joint venture of GM and Toyota at NUMMI.

A UAW representative said, “As a result of our losing market share to the foreign imports, we’re losing American Jobs. It just hurts our economy here.”

Uh, I don’t think so.

UAW workers lose their job because they can’t turn out products to match Toyota’s quality. Jobs aren’t lost…they are replaced by people who can do it better.

Wake up America!

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
