Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

How many kinds of dads can you think of is a loaded question for sure.

The truth is there are as many different kinds of dads as there are families. Every family is unique.

Futile as it may be I am trying to create a list of the different kinds of dads. I came up with 2 more this morning on my way to a Bible study at 5:30 am!

Do Over Dads is for dads of all flavors.

First time dads.

Kids with dads.

Kids who become dads.

Dads who have been there and done that.

Dads who have done things right.

Dads who have done things wrong.

Dads who want to learn.

Dads who want to share/mentor young dads.

Dads with instant families.

Dads who have lost their family for one reason or the other.

Dads who are dads and have dads, too!

Bi-cultural dads.

Bi-racial dads.

Single dads.

Work-from-home dads.

Dads who work away from home. (Happens a lot in Japan).

Foster dads

And here are the two I came up with this morning.

Dads who adopt kids.

Dads who are in prison!

Help me out here. What other kinds of dads can you think of?

Do Over Dads is a place for dads, those doing it over again and for those who will hope they never ever need a do over.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
