Isn’t this indeed true? No matter which sphere of life it is about, your father is someone who you would look up to no matter what. Here I am, talking about my dad who holds a special place in my heart because I am what I am today, because of him.

Fathers make you fly high

Sports. Schooling. Everything else. You have always been there to help and show me the way. Often times, when me and my husband get into lengthy conversations, he says, “you sound exactly like Pop”. It made me think of how I could be a replica in so many ways. He is the one who showed me the way, taught me and my sibling how to live life in the true sense of the word.

I had numerous vacations with my dad, a lot of lovely time and some great memories. I am still fond of doing similar traveling and sight seeing each year. Except, now I have to put up with two boys, my husband and my son. Something that really annoys me is how little you are acknowledged for the amount of time you dedicate to various things like hockey and indeed your work. But mainly hockey, the amount you contribute hasn’t been coming out with the women i don’t think.

You have taught me so much regarding hockey, and I think it was you who got me playing left half and strangely that is somewhere I really enjoy playing. I absolutely love it when you come and watch me play. Because I know you will always have some constructive criticism or compliments which really mean so much to me. It just dawned on me that you actually haven’t seen me play decent hockey. Mum constantly tells me how proud you are for all the learning that I have incorporated so far , especially with hockey. I know you are and I know you wish you had more time. I wouldn’t mind getting around to playing a few games of golf with you too, i just have to lower my standards to your level.

Dad, you are still guiding the way for me and your opinion always matters to me. Your advice is the best and you always seem to know whats best for me. In hindsight you provided the best parenting and its such a shame that others can’t experience it.

You will always be my hero.

P.S. I know where I get this from.
