Bobby and Larry’s Jonah

My daddy is two dimes and a nail. (Editor – dimensional).

He is tall and wide…and flat. I can’t really put my finger on what happened to him.

Yesterday I was on his shoulders. Today, I can carry him on my shoulders.  Try getting a 2-year old to figure out why that is. I do NOT know.

It might have something to do with that big feiji (Ed: airplane) that ate me and mommy and kept us inside for a night and two days. Yeah, those kinds of things happen cuz I know about the story Bobby and Larry told about thaa guy named Jonah who was eaten by a fish and spit out after 3 days and nights.

Daddy, it seems was too big for the feiji to eat. Maybe it was on a diet and eating my daddy would cause it to have a jump in cows less tea for all. (Ed: Cholesterol). Nobody tells 2-year olds why they things don’t happen. They just expect us to understand.

When we got spit out (speaking of spit out, I have been doing that a lot lately and I am here to tell you that nothing tastes as good going out as it did coming in) my daddy wasn’t there.

Gong Gong and Po Po were there which might explain why my daddy wasn’t but that’s a another story for another day.

Anyhow, we went to another house and all of a sudden Mama starts yelling, “Mia, it’s daddy!”

And I came a running and sure enough, there was my daddy. Uh, but he was inside the comb & butter scream (Ed: computer screen).

Huh!? How did they get my daddy in there? And why doesn’t he come out and play?

Can someone explain to me in 2-year old words what happened to my daddy!?

Mama says we can only talk to Daddy in the sky peas. (Ed: Skype) I looked up but I didn’t see him anywhere above me.

Maybe it has something to do with the big feiji spitting me and Mama out in China (where ever that is) and my Daddy still being in America. (Whatever that is.) When I grow up I am going to get an egg and plane nation. (Ed: explanation)

What I know for now is that I am bigger than my Daddy. But I like it better when he’s bigger than me.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
