“Bobby Joe! I am going to the chopper show.”
“Take Homer with you.”
“Ah … it’s crowded. And I am afraid he’ll get run over.”
“Nah … put him on a leash. He’ll be fine.”
“A leash. A leash. I ain’t got no leash. Can’t find no rope. The duct tape is all out. What am I gonna use for a leash dang it?”
“Look under the kitchen sink!”
“Here’s some detergent. That won’t work. Here’s the plunger. Hmm … maybe I can put it on his head and hold the handle. Nah. Here’s a dustpan. Nope. Here’s some old plastic bags. That’s it. They got lotsa gimmees at the show. And I want to bring them home with me. And look, if I tie this here and that here I can.
“Bobby Joe. I got it figgered out. Me and Homer’s leavin’ now. We’ll be back fer dinner.”
“That’s great, pickles. I have some squirrel stewing and ‘possum roasting.”
“Yum. I’ll bring home some grits, mush and pig head cheese.”
“And don’t forget to bring Homer back home, too. I am making his favorite. Corn on the cob. He can enjoy it while he still has his teeth.”
