It’s just a matter of time before at least one Chinese person does get the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones.
76-year old Rupert Murdoch ponied up $5.6 billion to for these two American icons today. But, let’s face it, how long will the soon to be octogenarian get to enjoy his new toys?
His wife, however, is 40-year old Shandong, China-born Wendi Deng Murdoch.
Deng took the tabloid route to be Murdoch’s wife and perhaps take over his huge empire which includes Times in London, Fox Television, the New York Post, and MySpace.com to name a few.
It is alleged she came to the US as a student, broke up the marriage of the host family that sponsored her, then cheated on her new husband of two years, was thrown out before finally ending up with Murdoch nine years ago. They have two children together.
In the midst of all the drama Deng received an MBA from Yale University and “is a director and chief strategist for the holding company that licenses the MySpace brand and technology to MySpace China.” Before that, she was a Vice President of News Corporation’s STAR TV in Hong Kong.
Now she is just a few years away from becoming the top dog of her husband’s amazing empire.
Even the tabloids can’t make up this kind of a story.
