Canada’s Tancredi scores second-fastest goal ever
Melissa Tancredi entered FIFA’s record books when she scored the second-fastest goal in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup just 37” into Canada’s 2-2 draw with Australia on 20 September in Chengdu.
Tancredi’s opener was only 7″ later than that of Lena Videkull’s goal for Sweden against Japan in 1991 (30”).
On 18 September Lori Chalupny found the net after 57” in the USA’s 1-0 win against Nigeria.
