Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.
Here’s a list of famous people born on January 27.
I don’t see my name.
But then I don’t see anybody born after 1988. Were there really people before then?
Here’s a name I recognize – 1756 – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Austria, musical prodigy/composer (Figaro).
I have his music on my little 4-finger piano with red, orange, blue and yellow keys and a twirling teddy bear. I bet you wish you had one.
There was a mini-concert at the church where my big brother Benjamin Belew plays the piano every week. You can see the Brahm’s piece he played by clickety click clicking that link.
Well, I wasn’t prepared…but they called me up front. And everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. They were a couple of days late, but it’s the thought that counts…so Daddy says.
The more surprising part was they asked me if I wanted to sing.
Huh? Me, sing? Who were they kidding?
But, you know what? My brother Micah is/was a swimmer. My brother Benjamin is a pianist. Whenever Micah was asked if he wanted to swim, the answer was “Yes, I am a swimmer. That’s what I do.” Whenever Benjamin gets asked if he wants to play the piano, the answer is “Yes, I am a pianist.”
I don’t know what or who I am going to be yet, but I do know one thing – I will ALWAYS be brave. And when I am given the chance to show anybody anywhere what I can do… I will do it. And I will do my very very best at it EVERY time.
Here’s the first video of me singing in public, with a microphone, before a crowd of really old people.
Good or bad, I dunno. It’s hard to here. But, by golly, I gave it my best shot … and I will do it again and again and again….
