Science Education

Finns are on top. Canada is next in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) science education league table.

But in the top ten, Japan and South Korea can be found, as well as two other Pan Pacific nations New Zealand and Australia

After that comes the Netherlands, South Korea, Germany, and Britain.

The second tier – the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Hungary, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, and France.

In the bottom tier came Iceland, the United States, Slovakia, Spain, Norway,

Luxembourg, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Turkey and Mexico.

The survey also learned that 72% of students are interested in science.

But, only 37% would consider a career in the science fields – despite the environmental challenges.

Would you like to be a scientist?
