Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

I think we are going to move.

I think my mommy and daddy want me to live by cows who chew lilies*.

I don’t get it either. I like my house… when I am there. I am in China now (where ever that is.)

Cow chewing lily

Mommy showed me a big blue ball with ugly brown and green places and little black spots on it. She said, “We are here. And daddy is there.”

I smiled. But try as hard as possible I could not see my daddy anywhere on that ball. I know where he is. He’s been a duck teddied (Ed: abducted) and shrunk down and put inside my mommy’s comb butter. (Ed: computer)

Still, I hear my mommy and daddy talk. They say they want me to grow up by cows who chew lilies. I think it has something to do with cows being able to eat grass or flowers and talk to each other in two languages.

For example, American cows say, “Moo, moo” and Japanese cows say, “Moh! Moh!”

My two big brothers grew up in Japan but get along just fine in America, too says my daddy. It was hard doing it but worth it in the end.

I am afraid I am going to have to live inside the comb butter where my daddy is stuck right now. I hear that’s where all the online farms are. (Ed: forums.)

The most important thing to me is that my mommy and daddy be there.
