Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.
Opinion leaders and the general public were surveyed recently. One of the things both groups were asked to do was “Rate China as an Ally.”
Opinion leaders (nearly 60%) thought more highly of China than did the general public (less than 50%).
People in the know or people who influence others, it seems, find China to be more reliable than the general population.
If China is such a reliable ally, why are they always on the opposite side of issues at, for example, UN security issues?

China is big enough and now supplies enough to the world that it knows the world depends on its manufacturing capability. China is secure in its relationships and frankly does not care what other countries do, unless it means to stop buying perhaps. And even then, new customers are lined up.
In the end, if China can be on the other side of an issue from the US, it will.
I don’t think China is an ally.
What do you think?

I think that the US view China as an ally or foe depending on the circumstances. They know the potential of this country therefore prompting them to think of it as a friend but in reality, they are really threatened-in all ways.
In what ways do you think the US might fell threatened?
Can you expand?
Well, I believe that China has the potential to make it big-economically. They have all the basic resources in China-labor, land, and natural resources. I think that the US also recognize the country’s potential thus making sure that they work together with China rather than against them.
Cooperation is good as is good healthy and fair competition.
