Sharing Love

Valentine’s Day used to mean decadence…the West was decadent, that is.

Not any more. The old ‘Paris of the East’, Shanghai can waste a bundle on Valentine’s Day like the rest of the west.

How about:

1. A Cartier Wrist watch – $5,146.

2. Bidding on a romantic, candlelight dinner in a private room in the Bund…starting at $645.

3. A limousine driven, personal butler, candle-lit dinner at a private concert for $1,000.

4. An overnight stay at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Shanghai for $3,700.

5. A romantic cruise on a luxury yacht for $24,000.

Chinese traditional ‘valentine’s day’ falls on August 19th this year, the seventh day of the seventh lunar month –

“based on a Chinese legend about two lovers — a cow herder and a fairy — who fell in love but were separated by a jealous god who created the Milky Way to keep them apart.

Only on Qi Xi could the lovers cross the stars to be together for one night. ”

Sounds much more romantic to me…and cheaper, too!
