Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.
Here’s another problem that is too big for me to understand.
Should we kick the immigrants out or let them stay?
If we send them home, we consumers will have to pay some overpriced Americans to take their place. Prices will go up.
It seems most Americans want to pay as little as possible for something but don’t want to know why the prices are so low – child labor in India, sweat shops in China and Oakland and Los Angeles, not to mention the seasonal workers that come in to the US and the horrid conditions they are forced to endure.
Economists at the University of North Carolina, when they weren’t trying to defend the little girl who was raped by a bunch of Duke Lacrosse chumps, (wait, that’s the law professors)…anyway, these economists, one of which was John Kasarda says:
“they (the immigrants) have kept some industries that would have gone to Mexico or CHINA.”
Let me see, do we want illegal Mexicans to wash our dishes, pick our grapes, clean our hotels, mow our grass or should we outsource that to China also?
What do you think?
