Baby Anklet Monitor

Baby Anklet Monitor

My daddy tells a story about his daddy.

His daddy was watching something at the movies with a friend that made the two of them blush.

Movies do that sometimes.

Daddy’s friend said, “Love scenes sure have changed since the cowboy kissed his horse.”

Here’s something else that has changed. Baby sitters!

There’s a new company in Silicon Valley – Sproutling – where I live that has created an ankle bracelet that babies can wear.

The anklet will tell mommies and daddies are sorts of cool things about their babies.

The device will not only alert you if your child stops breathing, but will track the child’s heart rate, ambient light level, temperature of the room and of the baby, and more.

But what we really want to know is, will tell us if the battery in the anklet is dead?

The company that invented the little gizmo got $2.6 million to further develop their idea.

Wow! That’s a lot of trips to Disney Land.

There’s a base station, a small camera and a mobile app as well.

“Baby to Mommy. Baby to Mommy. This is base station. Over.”

“Yes, honey?”

“Wah!! I just peed my pants.”

“No problem, honey. I will be right there.”

Unless, of course, the baby lives in Sweden. Then Mommy will come after she finishers her scone.

What do you think of electronically monitoring your babies?
