Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.
There are more and more Asian Americans coming to live nearby me.
Nearly everybody in my kindergarten class has a mommy or daddy or grandma or grandpa from Asia. Nearly ALL of them.
Facts about Asian-Americans.
Question: Who are all these mommies and daddies voting for once they are able to participate in elections? (Daddy, what’s an election?)
Answer: Asian-Americans are much more in favor of an activist government and have more liberal views on social issues. (Seriously, daddy. What does this mean?)
There are 18.2 million Asian Americans in the U.S. And one of out of three new immigrants are coming from Asia … to the west coast mostly. And to my kindergarten.
The Asian-Americans who can vote go Democrat. (Daddy!!!) 50-28%
What does this have to do with little girls and boys like me?
Well, for sure we are going to grow up. And then we can vote. And most of us will learn how to vote from our mommies and daddies.
If somebody comes from a country where their government, ahem, took care of them then they will look for the same when they get here.
More often than not when someone has nothing or very little, they want big brother to take care of them. But when they have something they don’t want to share as much by way of taxes and so on.
Daddy… can we change the subject?
How about you? What kind of voter are you?
