Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.
I don’t know anybody who is a famous Chinese American
Maybe my daddy. He says more than 85 million people know his name. I think that’s a lot.
I know Jeremy Lin … almost.
I know his mommy. She works in the kitchen at the church where I go every Sunday.
I live in Sunnyvale, which is next to Mountain View, which is where Jeremy Lin goes to church when he’s not playing basketball. And where he grew up. And it’s where his mommy and daddy go every Sunday. He still comes sometimes.
Jeremy Lin is a good Christian. The church people love him. They remember when he was a little boy and growing up. And they still love him. They see him all grown up and still growing up. And they still love him. They see the troubles he is having. And they still love him. They pray for him. I pray for him. And I don’t even know him. I just see his mommy preparing lunch.
I am sure I will never be Jeremy Lin. I am a little girl. And I am not even sure I will be a Christian. I will decide that later. I am a little girl.
But I can decide now that I want to people to love me. And maybe being like Jeremy Lin = doing my best and being a Christian is the right thing to do.
Watch my daddy talk about Jesus being a life coach and mentor.
Hi Mia,
I like your post about Jeremy Lin, he is a good basketball player. I played basketball when I was younger and it was my favorite sport. I liked Jeremy when he played in New York and now he plays in Houston. I think he may have a good chance this year at playing in the NBA finals since they now have Dwight Howard (he’s a really tall guy who is really good too).
What I like most about your post was you gave me some insight into Jeremy’s faith (belief in God) and his parents who no doubt raised him to know Jesus. I appreciate getting that insight into him because I did not know he was a Christian. I am a Christian too so that makes me like him a bit more. Thank you and keep up the writing!
Thank you for reading here. I would love to hear/read more about your experiences.
I will visit your site.
And I plan to share more and more of mine as well.
