The Clock

The Clock

How many people will celebrate the coming of the New Year this year?

The U.S. census bureau is predicting the world population will be –

6,750,819,383 on 1/1/09.

Of course, it takes 24 hours for the whole world to come around to the new year and during that time there will be a net gain of 217,011 more people.

Somebody smarter than me will be able to tell me how to install a world population clock in a blog post so that I can see the current world population.

For now…links –

Current World Population Clock

US Census Bureau

As I write this 6,750,364,880…um 912…956….5,040…

In the US –

One birth every……………………………. 8 seconds
One death every……………………………. 12 seconds
One international migrant (net) every………… 36 seconds
Net gain of one person every………………… 14 seconds

In the World –
4.3 births every second
1.8 deaths every
2.5 net gain every second

This World Clock gives real time figures of population, births, diseases by year, month, week and day.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.

SERIOUSLY need to look at bringing our world population growth into balance, by having deaths equal births. And to do so by using sane methods like birth control and family planning.
