It’s hard to meet Mulan in California. Not so hard in Florida.

This puzzles me. There are more Chinese people in California who I reckon would like to meet Mulan than there is in Florida.

But then, Disney didn’t make all their money by asking my opinion.

Daddy and I went to the Magic Kingdom. After we saw Belle’s town, and Rapunzel’s tower and village we went to Epcot Center to the World Showcase. We had heard that we could meet Mulan there.

I have a collection of pics with all the princesses except Mulan. I didn’t have Anna and Elsa either, but they were going to be at the Norway pavilion, also in the World Showcase.

My first mission was to find Mulan. In the worst case, I figured I would be able to meet Anna and Elsa at Disneyland in California.

Sure enough! We found Mulan. We waited in line … not too long after eating lunch and we got her signature … in my book and on daddy’s phone.

Surprise! Here is how she signed it.

It was me. I got it. Here’s my pic with her.

Just in case you’re wondering, Mulan is the taller one and I am the smaller one.

I can read and write Chinese.

You can see Ariel’s,

Rapunzel’s and

Tinker Bell’s digital signatures, too!

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
