Twitter Millionaires

Twitter, you know the little blue bird, is my neighbor. Almost. I live in the South Bay, the very heart of Silicon Valley.

Twitter is located in San Francisco, kind of to the north of Silicon Valley proper. But, I reckon people live in the Valley and drive back and forth to the City (San Francisco) because they can’t afford to live there. Until yesterday.

It is said that you a husband and wife team can EACH be making $150,000/year and still not be able to buy a home in San Francisco.

Yesterday Twitter sold out to the public. In one day Twitter became worth more than LinkedIn, another neighbor. Something like $20+ billion. I have no idea how much that is. I don’t think anybody really does.

But when Twitter let the buy into it, a bunch of people who have been working there and growing the little bird for some time overnight became millionaires. They still can’t buy a house in San Francisco, but they can make a 20% down payment maybe.

Millenials are not my generation. I don’t know what my generation is going to be called … Golden Piggies?

Twitter dudes are still in their 20’s and have made over night more than my daddy said he made in his life time.

But they didn’t make it over night … They have been working for the past months or even years to get this far.

Still… that’s a lot of money to be made in one day even it took a few years to get there.

My neighbors are rich. Me? I am going to kindergarten.
