China Buying Its Way into Silicon Valley

Famous Companies in Silicon Valley

If you can’t build it, buy it. If you don’t have the money, then get to work.

China has money out the wazoo says daddy. And they are on a shopping spree.

TenCent owns WeChat. And a LOT of mommy’s time. She’s on there so much talking to old friends. Daddy finally joined WeChat, too … just so he could talk to mommy. WeChat has 450,000 million users.

TenCent owns Weibo, a little like Twitter and a little like Tumblr.

TenCent owns QQ, kinda like a super forum with 818 million active MONTHLY users.

You sure can buy a lot for Ten Cents these days.

TenCent has $5 billion in CASH. Makes you wonder how big their piggy bank is, doesn’t it?

TenCent is trying to buy SnapChat … makes sense TenCent owns WeChat.

Maybe I’ll build something called ChatChat.

Another Chinese company, Alibaba, invested in ShopRunner.

The bottom line … China has a LOT of money that they want to spend on good ideas in Silicon Valley.

Samsung of Korea, too.

The secret to access to that money … a good idea.

Daddy works out of a co-working space where he says there are so many good ideas, (and some not so good) that people leave good ideas laying around the floor sometimes.

Daddy’s new favorites are Prezi and Prezo (not related).
