Brilliance Auto is the third Chinese car maker that I plan to introduce here. If you are wondering how many makers I will introduce altogether, the answer is I, too, was surprised to find out how many different car makers there were in China. Please keep reading.
Brilliance Auto begins their website with “Our results for 2004 were less than satisfactory.” This speaks volumes, doesn’t it? It gets worse after that.
Nevertheless, Brilliance has strategic partnerships with Toyota, BMW, PORSCHE, GIUGIARO, MITSUBISHI and others.
You would think with all those guys helping out, sales would be much better, no?
But the Chinese have a saying, ‘too many captains will sail a ship up a mountain.”
Maybe that’s what is going on here.
I was being driven in a ZHONGHUA sedan one time in northern China.
The speedometer was maxed out and tapping the little marker at around 210kph (130mph) when out of the blue an AUDI went seriously zooming by…250kph (150-160mph?)
This may be China’s best car, but it is still not the best.
At a post in AManWalksIntoAnOffice we might see what the, um, experts might say of Brilliance Auto’s chances.
How about you, what do you think is the possibility of seeing Chinese cars puttering around the before long?
