Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

This story is fast in 8 things. (Ed. fascinating).

These two girls who are just a little bit older than me were born in China.

Then some Americans came to China and do ploppted them. (Ed. adopted) them. It’s kind of like buying a real baby doll but not really.

One family in Michigan got one little girl. And another family in North Carolina adopted the other. Michigan and North Carolina don’t know each other.

The two families met in China while getting their little girls and kept in touch on Facebook after they got back to America.

They watched each other’s girls grow up while checking out Facebook pictures. And we thought Facebook was just for goofing off on.

Finally one parent noticed how much the two little girls looked alike and that they had the same birthday and decided to email the other family.

They did an ABC test (Ed. DNA) and learned that the two girls were not only related, they were twins!!

Good googie moogie. Imagine learning that you have a twin sister. This is more fun than Switched at Birth.

Blame it on America for separating the girls from the get go. Leave it to America to find a way for them to get back together.

Mommy, do I have a twin sister some place that I don’t know about?

This reminds me of the blonde daddy who’s wife had twins. He’s still out looking for the other daddy.  He he he ..

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
