Tiger Woods will design and develop his first golf course – in Dubai, UAE.
It will be a 7,700-yard, par-72 course. Additionally, it will have a 60,000 square foot clubhouse, a golf academy, 320 exclusive villas and a boutique hotel featuring 80 suites.
So, which is it? A resort or a golf course?
Tiger Woods created Tiger Woods Design and Tatweer, a member of the government-affiliated Dubai Holding.
Tiger’s golf course will be the ninth course in Dubai. Woods won the inaugural Dubai Classic earlier this year in a playoff with Ernie Elis.
Tiger chose Dubai first because, well Tiger likes a challenge – transforming a desert terrain into a world-class golf course.
The Dubai developers responded – “We never looked for anyone beyond Tiger for the project because we believe in only working with the very best,” al-Muntafiq said.
Tiger is the best. Dubai is rich. To be sure, it will be worth Tiger’s time to have his hand in the development.
