Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.
I promised myself I would ask one or more of the princesses if they wanted to come to my house to visit.
Princesses Belle, Jasmine, Ariel, Tiana, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, Pocahantas, Mulan. All of them…any of them. Even Tinker Bell maybe.
But then I got shy.
Daddy wasn’t shy. But for some reason he said it wouldn’t be right if he asked one of the princesses to go home with him. I don’t understand.
Still, to Disneyland we went. And fun we had. Lots and lots of it.
My mommy is a shutterbug. She took about a picture a minute. Which is fun for me, cuz I get to see again and again and again … just how much fun I had. Thanks, Mommy!
And for those of you who didn’t get to Disneyland this year, well, I invite you to go with me. Kinda sorta. Via my pictures here.
The next best thing to going to Disneyland…is going back in my dreams and in my photos. Thanks, Mommy!
My favorite is the one with Tiana. My Daddy’s favorite is the one with him and me and Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. My mommy’s favorite is … All of them. Thanks, Mommy!
Which is your favorite?
And when will you go to Disneyland again.
I have just a couple of words of advice. Be sure to take your Mommy with you. She’ll make sure you enjoy it again and again and again and …..
Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
