For young girls who want role models, even fictional ones, to work on their personality, the Disney princesses could be a good place to start. We don’t want to forget. however, that they are fictional. Real life is different.

Little Girls Need Positive Role Models from Real Life

For a long time Princess Aurora was my favorite. Remember I (Mia) am young, so my long time might not be as long as your long time. He he he.

Still, I liked princess Aurora. And I wanted a princess Aurora dress. The reason? She wears pink. I love pink. Who doesn’t love pink?

I have met Princess Aurora several times – in California Disneyland and at Walt Disney World in Orlando. She gets around. She might think the same about me.

But there are other things about Briar Rose that I like besides the pink dress.

11 Positive Personality Traits of Princess Aurora

Beautiful – of course she is beautiful on the outside. But inside, too. My daddy says, the quality of beauty is what we see on the outside of a person that a person cannot contain within. It’s a good thing for us to be able to present ourselves the best way we can.

Singer – I love to sing. I have a long way to go. But daddy says beautiful singing comes from the heart. Daddy and I sing along with each other. He can sing louder than my whole 5th grade class combined! Making a joyful noise he says. Having the ability to sing is a good tool in a repertoire.

Soft spoken – your voice doesn’t have to be loud to be heard. Daddy? Did you read this. He he he. Sometimes you can be heard better when people have to lean in to listen instead of back away.

Sophisticated – you don’t have to be obnoxious to stand out. If everyone around you is acting like a fool, but you are being calm and in control … who do you think will be noticed? Respected?

Refined – polished objects shine. I think it’s okay to be silly sometimes. It’s also okay to know how and when to be respectful … to older people (like daddy) for example. Some people have earned the right to be heard. Knowing what to say and when to say is not just tactful, it can be a demonstration of kindness, too.

Loyal – it’s hard to continue loving people when they make mistakes … unless loyalty is at your foundation. I am a kid. I make mistakes. My mommy and daddy love me no matter what. When I do things correctly and when I sometimes mess up. I want to treat my friends the way my parents treat me.

Romantic – why not aspire to true love and passion and and and why not see how things could be if all the ‘pieces fell into place?’

Passionate for love – not passionate from love, but passionate FOR love. Too often people satisfy themselves with a partner rather than look for THE ONE. Don’t hang out just with people you can get along with, look to be friends with people you cannot get along without.

Kind – kindness is not weakness. When everyone else is being mean, it’s okay to be different, to be kind, to treat others gently.

Selfless – where have all these people gone? Gobbled up by the selfish, perhaps. Thinking of others before thinking of yourself. Does anybody do that anymore. Imagine two people each genuinely wanting the best for the other. They’d certainly become good friends, wouldn’t they?

Obedient – we like to obey when we agree and understand. But what about when we don’t? Sometimes we need to listen to our parents, for example, just because they are older and have experience and know things that we don’t. Trusting my parents allows me to obey them when I don’t understand why.
