China

So much for the one child policy.

Less than 40% (35.9) of the Chinese population are actually restricted to having just one child – the ‘one-child policy.’

Except in Central China’s Henan Province, couples can have two children if they are both only children.

Here that? If couples both are only children, they can have more than one child.

And…where has this rule been hiding all these years?

In rural areas, (more than half the population) couples are allowed to have a second child if their first is a girl (the so-called “one-and-a-half

children policy”).

Minority groups, abt 11% of the population, are free to have two or more children.

All those kids who grew up in the 70s and 80s as single children…are now marrying age….and free to have two kids.

Is this policy suddenly coming to light because of the severe shortage of girls? like 37 million too few?

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
