— Flying Carpets—
Mia was so happy to find that on the other side of the window that she fell through that she did not land on the ground and hurt herself. Instead she fell onto a carpet that was floating in the air.
The carpet didn’t speak, because everyone knows that carpets cannot speak. But for some reason Mia thought the carpet could hear what she was thinking.
Mia thought, “Is this carpet really flying? Can it take me wherever I want to go?”
Whoooosh! The carpet took off. Flying higher and higher. Mia thought she should be scared but she wasn’t. On her right she could see down below a tiny little boat. It was tiny because it was so far below. And on the boat she could see two people holding hands and looking up into the sky. The two people were jumping up and down and waving and throwing kisses.
“Mommy!? Daddy?! Is that you guys?”
There was so much happiness and tears and laughter because Mia remembered that her mommy and daddy never ever forget to think about her. And, of course, she always thought of them, too!
On Mia’s left there was another little girl with long black hair, almond eyes, jewels in her tiara and a blue silk outfit.
Their carpets brought them close to one another and they chatted for a long long time about life in the palace and a dream to be free. Mia asked and the other little girl very kindly let Mia try on her tiara.
