Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

My daddy is a joker. Or maybe he is serious. I don’t know.

He says that my big brother Benjamin got all his right brain ability. He’s an amazing artist – plays the piano, draws, pants, um, I mean paints.

My other big brother, Micah, got all his left brain ability. Micah is an amazing scientist – moles and cute girls x r size fits ee eye ee eye oh. (Ed: molecular exercise physiology).

And I got all of my daddy’s good look.

The conclusion – he has none of any of  those to left.

One of these days, I hope I can give back to my daddy. For now, all I have are hugs. He says they are more than enough!

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
