Cold War

The captain of an Airplane was Jewish and the first officer was Chinese.

The first time they flew together it was obvious by the silence that they didn’t get along.

After thirty minutes, the Jewish Captain spoke, “I don’t like Chinese.”

The First Officer replied, ” You don’t like Chinese? Why is that?”

The Captain said, “You bombed Pearl Harbor. That’s why I don’t like Chinese.”

The F.O. says, “Nooo, nooo… The Chinese didn’t bomb Pearl Harbor. That was the Japanese, not Chinese.”

The Captain replied, “Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese… it doesn’t matter, they’re all the same.”

Another thirty minutes of silence.

Finally, the F.O. says, “I don’t like Jews.”

The Captain replied, “Why not? Why don’t you like Jews?”

F.O. says, “The Jews sank the Titanic.”

The Captain tried to correct him, “No, no. The Jews didn’t sink the Titanic. It was an iceberg.”

To which the F.O. replied,” Iceberg, Goldberg, Rosenberg, no matter. They are all the same.”

Joke

Unfortunately, it is not funny when people are thrown into a box, stereotyped and when fools do NOT realize that each country has their own personality and the people of those countries are often very proud of their heritage.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
