An updated List of Countries in Asia.
For someone who writes about Asia, I should have known the answer off the top of my head to the question of how many countries are there on a list of countries in Asia?
I didn’t. I was surprised when I checked. There’s been a lot of divvying up of the big continent. You can count the number of countries or just scroll down to the bottom to find the answer.
Where I could, I provided links to take you to sites about the countries – CIA, State Department, United Nations, that country’s site, official tourist info, BBC, Library of Congress, that country’s embassy, World Bank, and so on. In many cases, a link can send you elsewhere to find info on other countries as well. The CIA, World Bank and so on have links for all countries.
If you have a better link to introduce a country, please send me your recommendation in the comments. It would be fun for me and perhaps others who find this site to know the best source to find info on a country. Thanks!

I’m sorry to tell you that Abkhazia and South Ossetia and Georgia are a part of Europe. Cyprus is also part of Europe. Only half of Russia lies in Asia, the other part lies in Europe. Turkey also lies partially in Europe.
