Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

Raising kids bilingually helps them to learn many things. It helps them to see the world in different perspective and encourages them to explore new things.

It comes mostly from the parents. If parents want their kids to be raised in a sophisticated way, they should act in a way that the kids develop an interest to learn new things. Parents should be very positive about being bilingual and bi-cultural  Knowing different cultures help the kids to grow well mannered. They understand the values and roots of cultures that help to develop respect and expose them to different cultures.

Parent’s dedication in helping the kids to be bilingual and bi-cultural will end in good ways in this complex world. It helps the kids to find new opportunities all over the world.

Nowadays, there are many new technologies that are helping kids to learn things in an easy manner.

There are many ‘apps’ that can be downloaded on smart phones or tablets.

They have different ways to help children learn new things in different languages.

Coming from a different country, I have a different home language. My parents have foreseen that raising me as a bilingual and bi-cultural person will help me a lot to learn things around me.

My parents encouraged me to learn English from my childhood as English is given the highest priority and is used in most of the countries.

Without their support, it wouldn’t be possible for me to come all this way and be in this stage of my life. My parents followed one thing; they used to talk in English which made me very enthusiastic to know what they were saying.

Eventually, I ended up learning English and started speaking it fluently. That really helped me now as I came to USA; I’m not lost as I can communicate in a different language that is being used here.

It really helped me to adjust and know things around me.

If  kids are raised bilingually they have a very good future ahead. It helps them to increase their confidence levels and strength to achieve anything. At the same time, raising kids bi-culturally will help the children to learn different cultures and people’s belief.

They build their personality accordingly and learn to follow the norms that the particular culture follows. It is kind of challenging to cope up with different cultures yet they get to know the values and principles that different people follow. It helps them to gain additional knowledge.

Different cultures may follow different languages. So following different cultures helps to learn different languages. Interacting with people helps to gain more information. Each culture has its own perspective and different principles.

So raising kid’s bi-culturally, bilingually will help them to attain more knowledge.
