Daddy taught me about Pandora. Not the box. The online music player.

It’s kind of cool. You can create channels and Pandora will play mostly what you like.

Pandora has 200,000,000 users. That’s a LOT!

Pandora also has 25 music analysts, 10 curators who listen to music all day and try to put them into groups as well as a data scientist, recommendation system specialists, statisticians and software engineers. They also have an astrophysicist just in case somebody from outer space signs up.

Pandora wants to hit people with “the perfect song at the perfect moment.”

Pandora wants to play songs from a listener’s childhood and from time to time introduce something new.

Pandora has facts about what 200,000,000 people have been listening to each month for the past 8 years.

Daddy listens to Pandora in his car on his way to work after dropping me off each morning. I know that because I can hear him singing and see the car swaying as he goes out the parking lot. Not really, of course. But you can be sure that Pandora is ‘listening’ to what daddy is listening to and trying to guess what next to play for him.
