Christmas

How Do You Say “Merry Christmas” in Chinese?

Yeah, the Chinese do Christmas, too…without the Christ part usually, much like the rest of the world has taken the part they like and left out the important part.

Anyway…fashion is as fashion does, the Chinese say 圣诞快乐. Sheng(4) Dan (4) Kuai (4) le (4).

Sheng = holy one. Dan = birth, Kuai le = get happy now.

The 4 means the sound drops. If all else fails, just nod your head down when you say it.

At least the words mean the right thing.
