Fighting Japanese

My first duke blog was about a little guy, a blogger no less, in China being pushed around by a very rich guy.

This one is about a very very rich guy going after one of the richest (the richest?) companies in the world.

Bill Ford said, “My goal is to fight Toyota.” Those are indeed fighting words.

Oh, yeah. Bill, the great-grandson of Henry Ford of Ford Motor Company, said that. And he’s got a black belt in Taekwondo to back ’em up. OOooo! No matter that Japan is where Karate, Judo, and Aikido are from.

Bill’s words – “Toyota is an excellent company and a terrific competitor.”

One of Ford’s biggest problems is that he has to pay American workers $65/hr to do what Chinese (yea, I said Chinese) will do for $2/hr.

Bill has his work cut out for him if he wants to whoop Toyota. I think I heard the Toyota CEO’s response to Bill’s call for a fight. It was something like “Forudotte dare?”

That roughly translates in to “Who is Ford?”

My money is on Toyota. Who do you think is going to win?

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
