Blogging in Russia

The Washington Post-Pew Research Center polled people in 15 different countries.

Nearly all of them have worse opinions of the US now than they did a year ago….and they didn’t like the US before.

Russia’s view of the US dropped from 52% to 43%.

Spain’s positive view of the US dropped from 41% to 23%.

India’s positive view of the US dropped from 71% to 56%.

Indonesia’s view dropped from 38% to 30%.

Turkey went from 23% to just 12%.

France, Germany, and Jordan also saw declines.

Only two countries saw their positive views of the US improve – they were Pakistan and China.

13 of the 15 countries see Iran’s nuclear ambitions as a threat but most said the war in Iraq posed more of a danger to world peace.

Twice as many Russians think that Iraq is a bigger problem for the world than Iran.

Nobody likes us, everybody hates us, we think we’ll go eat worms…

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.

People in other countries don’t hate American, they only hate what US goverment doing to the world. Why US, for god’s sake at least once, try to solve its own problem. Every country has its own problem, but who’s US to decide for them! Majority of American even don’t care and don’t know about other culture why they bother to judge any culture other than American.

If China and Pakistan haven’t changed because of their profit. All they care about profit not human’s life. We have to know about China and Pakistan long time history to understand why?

Iran’s history shows that they are peaceful people, but always they were been under attack of other Arab’s country. Even some Arab culture mixed with Persian culture. Even Islam was forced to Persia by Arab people.

About Iraq, all I can say that, my parent were raised there, and I still have some relatives there that I am not aware of, there are some good people there too. On very young age I witnessed the revolution of Iraq when Malek Faysal was pulled by a horse, and in early twenties Iran’s revolution. Revolution and war raise hate!

Thank you, Dori, for your perspective.

It is a good point that you make…People hate what the US government is doing.

It’s easy to see why other countries dont like the US Gov’t. It’s because the US has become like the world police. If other countries dont agree with what the US Gov’t does, the US Gov’t doesn’t give a damn. Other countries have no problem with the US helping out in efforts and are quite thrilled for the help, but it is not always right that the US Gov’t decides to get involved in wars for whatever motives.
