It’s kind of like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.  I don’t believe in either one because you hear about them a lot but you never really see them.

You also hear about companies who give money away. But who are they? And do they really? And have you ever really seen one?

In Silicon Valley there is a culture of giving away, giving back. NOT throwing away. But reinvesting. After all people can only spend so much money. And some companies just give … not even expecting a return … like to the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health – $18 million from local companies!

From 2011 to 2012, these 25 countries increased their giving by 8.7%.

From 2012 to 2013, giving was up 29.8%.
