Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

I know the secret to sleeping well, sleeping in, and sleeping through all sorts of noise and thunder, say like lawnmowers and weed eaters and leaf blowers right out side my window…and on a Saturday morning, too!

No problem, I slept right through it. Wasn’t hard at all.

And while I was sleeping, 10s of thousands of people…millions? of people were going nutcakes over a bug. You know, that little one where the mama bug makes all the noise…click, click, crick, cricket! Cricket! That’s right.

While I was sleeping some 70,ooo people came to my house, too!

Well, kinda, sorta. Daddy said they came to see bird dooey. Eeww! (Editor: it’s virtually and it wasn’t yucky at all.) They were watching the Eye Pee Ell at his web site. (Editor: IPL) And that’s some sort of game in India where people pray to the god Sachin while he play for them. Or did they play and he pray. I am not sure now.

But that reminds me of what I was going to tell you. The secret to sleeping in, well and through? It’s too play real hard when you are awake. Run. Jump. Climb. Pull. Push. Sit. Stand. Sit. Stand. Roll. Crawl. Bend over. Straighten up. Stand on one leg. Stand on the other. Stand on none (oops that doesn’t work very well.) Get up. Swim. Build. Knock down. … then do it all over again and again and again as many times in a day as you can. And, then I’ll bet you sleep just fine.

It works for me.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
