The NBA All-Star game is going on tonight.

I am not watching it. There is nothing that appeals to me about a bunch of overgrown kids getting paid overpaid to play. It’s still called playing basketball, isn’t it?

Still, if truth be told, I guess I have a passing interest in sports. Must be a man gene or something. I don’t know.

CNNSI ranked the best of the best. It makes for good fodder when guys are hanging around the bar. Another thing that doesn’t interest me.

How much fun can arguing about something I can’t do, hit my head on the rim, dunk from the foul line, palm a basketball? I can palm a cue ball, however.

The best big man in the game according to CNN/SportsIllustrated – Yao Ming.

Top 11 in scoring – 22.2ppg. Top 11 in rebounds – 10.8rpg. Blocks 2.1. And he can make free throws, too – at 84.8%. Compare that to Dwight Howard’s 59% or Marcus Camby’s 66%, or Tyson Chandler’s 61% or Shaq’s 48%.

Yao Ming is the best, and he’s ugly, too!

You want to have a drink and discuss it? You’ll have to do it without me.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
