Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

The number of complaints from tourists in China continues to climb.

More than 10,000 complaints about poor service were filed in China in 2006 according to the State Tourism Administration.

The top four complaints:

1. Travel agencies were the number one target:

a. poor service quality

b. changing travel routes without notice

c. irresponsible guides.

2. Restaurants

3. Scenic spots

4. Transportation

China is expected to become the world’s number one tourist destination within the next 10 years.

Of course, as more and more people head to China, the number of complaints is certain to rise. What is important is the ratio of poor service to the total number of travelers.

How did you find China’s service if you have ever visited?

I never thought anything was poor enough that I would have to file a complaint in the dozens of times that I have visited.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.

Beware of Scam or Pressurized selling when joing a Tour Package to China.

Many of the the local China Tour Agents will organize visit to some local factory outlets for Jade, Chinese Medicine etc.

The most common is foot massage. You will be brought to place for a Free foot massage. But during the process, there will be Chinese Physicians providing free consultation service. They actually trying to sell you some Chinese Herbs or medecine. Most of these herbs are low cost items but they sell it at very high price.

They will like to quote you examples on how Chinese Herbs help to cure serious diseases like cancer. One very common example is they use Singapore current Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong as an example, how his cancer was cured in China.

Do not fall into the trap. Always follow this principle, anything that you do not know, do not buy! No matter how wonderful it sounds.
