Superhero

China’s superwoman’s name is Wang Ping and she knows the secrets to super success.

After all, she created the Super Girl and Super Boy contests in 2004 and 2006 in China.

The shows generated a fortune for Hunan Satellite Television (HST) – over Y1 billion – $131 million.

China’s State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT) canceled an audience participation program but superwoman responded – “It will not have a big impact on us. On the contrary, we think it is a protective measure to help purify the cultural environment on TV.”

Her mother didn’t like the winner, nor did her daughter.

Still, Wang Ping is superwoman.

The program is NOT modeled after American Idol – “It is like playing the same piano. Different pianists make different tunes. We might learn from them, but we do have our identity.”

The secrets –

1. “We delivered what people wanted.”

2. “Super Girl and Super Boy have provided opportunities for ordinary people to realize their dreams.”

That’s what people want…a chance to fulfill their dreams.

What’s your dream?
