Driving

Confucious say – Man who drives like hell bound to get there.

The number of road traffic deaths in China this year reached 73,955 in the first ten months. That’s about one person every 6 minutes.

Still, this number is down 8% from last year.

Road accidents were DOWN 15% to 317,476 in the first ten months. That is one accident every minute and half.

November is historically bad for Chinese drivers:

1. Transported goods increase

2. Foggy weather rolls in

3. Motorists go dumb in cold weather…or is it numb…or both.

More people die on the roads on Sunday in China than on any other day. And it’s not because they are coming home from church.

By comparison….if the US had as many people as China does there would be 170,000+ deaths on American roads.

Are American drivers more careless? They are on 880 in the Bay Area of San Francisco.

I don’t think so. America just has more cars….for now.

What do you think?

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
