Bilingual brains are better brains.

If you don’t agree with me, learn another language and then we will talk.

Studies say that bilingual brains are:

1. faster

“You still talking about that? I am working on something else.”

2. more focused

“Don’t bother me, I am working on something.”

3. more flexible

“Yeah, my right ear hears English and my left ear hears Chinese. So?”

4. less likely to lose their mind

“Daddy says that first he has to find his.”

5. Being bilingual can also help overcome the negative effects of extreme poverty.

I don’t know about those five things, but here is something I do know.

I can read books and hear stories from two different cultures.

I can talk to grandmas and grandpas from both sides of the ‘big pond’ as daddy calls it.

I can watch programs from two countries.

I can watch the same program in two languages. Did you know Ariel can speak Chinese, too?

I can also go to Disneyland in two countries. Hong Kong and Los Angeles Disneyland anyone?

So, if being bilingual can do all this, I wonder what would happen if I were tri-lingual?

I think I’ll ask daddy. He knows a bunch of languages.
