Bill Belew has raised 2 bi-cultural kids, now 34 and 30. And he and his wife are now parenting a 3rd, Mia, who is 8.

My daddy just got back from speaking at a conference in Manila.

While he was there he took a trip to Sue’s Bic Bay. (Ed: Subic Bay).

Daddy says to pay no attention to the belly. That’s really his chest. It’s just taller than it used to be.

Daddy visited Subic Bay many times when he was in the Navy. He went back to get a taste of nose talcum. (Ed: Nostalgia). He said it was quite good.

Not only did he see the Navy base, he went into Oh Long Poh Poh. (Ed: Olongapo). I wonder if Oh Long knows my Chinese Poh Poh.

While there Daddy saw some Jeepneys.

He said they are different than what they used to be.

Here is a better look at what daddy saw.

I am still too little to have too much purses peck ten. (Ed: perspective), but what I can say is they sure are funny looking school buses!

Why don’t we see them here in the US I wonder?

I’d better ask Daddy. He knows them things.

Talk to Bill and others about their experiences raising bi-cultural Japanese-American kids.
